Why should your unit have a website?
Most societies today only have a Facebook page. Facebook is a great channel for marketing, but maybe not the best for posting the kind of information most students seek. Why? On Facebook, your posts tend to get lost after some time, and students seem to think that scrolling through a Facebook page can be frustrating. Many students also think that asking for information is awkward. All relevant information about your unit should be easily obtained and the students should never really have to ask for basic information.
If you do not have a website, you are most likely missing out on opportunities for students to identify who you are and if they want to take part in your activities.
This said, if you have a bad website it is better to have no website. While no website equals missed opportunities, a bad website can actually be worse since it literally makes your committee look bad. That is why we are here to help.
